German students spent two weeks of internship at Izhevsk State Technical University

German students from the Graduate School of Applied Sciences Ostfalia began a two-week internship in the Department of Heat Power Engineering of the ISTU named after M.T. Kalashnikov (Faculty of heat engineering) from August 27 to September 6. The delegation of eleven people is headed by the head of the department of the Higher School of Applied Sciences Ostfalia, Professor Arthur Menerich (who visited Izhevsk for the third time), and the research fellow of the Higher School Anya Blidon.

Let us recall that ISTU and Graduate School of Applied Sciences Ostfalia signed an agreement on a bi-national program for students in September 2011, which provides for a diploma of both educational institutions.

The bi-national program allows you to train highly qualified universal specialists who can work in Russian-speaking and German-speaking countries. It should be noted that 22 students of the Faculty of heat engineering have already become holders of double diplomas.

The German delegation visited the Combined heat and power plant with an excursion, listened to the lecture “Water Supply: Water Distribution Systems, Water Treatment Technologies, Requirements for Drinking Water Quality”. The students were shown both the district boiler room and the heating networks. German students learned about the pumping station in water supply and sewerage systems and much more.

On September 6, eleven students received the certificate of the participant of the Russian-German summer school for “Water supply and sanitation of populated areas – 2018”.

The teacher of the Higher School of Applied Sciences Ostfalia Björn Michael Elsche said: “The internship was saturated with various information - and this is valuable. We met interesting people, teachers, and professors. We also visited many interesting places. And now we can compare how we differ from each other. Thank you for the excellent organization of the process. Very sincere, friendly attitude of all those who were close by during these days.”
