The contest on selection of candidates for the post of the Head of the city of Izhevsk will be held on June 8

On May 15, under the chairmanship of Oleg Garin, the twenty-fourth special session of the City Duma of Izhevsk of the sixth convocation took place, at which it was decided to announce a competition to select the candidates for the post of the head of the municipal formation "City of Izhevsk".

Documents from the candidates participating in the competition are accepted on working days from 18 to 28 May 2018 in the building of local government bodies (Pushkinskaya Street 276, room 117). The contest itself will be held on June 8 at 10 a.m.

As noted by Oleg Garin, Chairman of the City Duma of Izhevsk, the citizens of Russia who have reached the age of 21 have the right to participate in the competition. The Contest Committee will evaluate the professional and personal qualities of candidates, their skills, knowledge, skills based on the documents submitted by them and the results of the interview. All candidates must submit a program (concept) for the development of Izhevsk or an action program as the Head of the city of Izhevsk before June 1.

The competitive commission consists of 12 people, six of which are appointed by the Head of the Udmurt Republic, six more – by the City Duma of Izhevsk.

By order of the Head of Udmurtia, the commission includes:

- Sergey Smirnov, the head of the Administration of the Head of the Udmurt Republic and the Government of the Udmurt Republic;

- Veronika Lekomtseva, the deputy head of the Administration of the Head of the Udmurt Republic and the Government of the Udmurt Republic – the head of the Department for Interaction with Local Self-Government Bodies;

- Alexei Zagrebin, the State Duma deputy of the seventh convocation, Chief Researcher in Udmurt Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President of the Association of Anthropologists and Ethnologists of Russia;

- Alexander Prozorov, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the State Council of the sixth convocation for state construction and local self-government;

- Fanil Ziyatdinov, General Director of Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol, Honorary Citizen of the Udmurt Republic;

- Oleg Botkin, Head of the Department of Economic Theory of the Institute of Economics and Management of the Udmurt State University, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

The commission from the City Duma of Izhevsk includes:

- Maria Bobyleva, the head of the Communist Party faction in the City Duma of Izhevsk;

- Alfred Zinnatullin, chairman of the permanent commission for local self-government, information policy and public relations;

- Konstantin Kotov, chairman of the permanent commission on budget and finance;

- Dmitry Kulishov, leader of the LDPR faction in the City Duma of Izhevsk;

- Dmitry Nikonov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Sergei Surnin, Chairman of the Standing Committee on housing and communal services and urban infrastructure development matters.

Konstantin Kotov, chairman of the permanent commission of the City Duma of Izhevsk on budget and finance, said that the results of the competition will be considered at a closed meeting of the competition committee within two working days from the date of the interview and on the basis of evaluation sheets filled out by the commission members. The commission must select at least two candidates who have shown the best results in the competition. The head of the city of Izhevsk is elected by the City Duma from the candidates represented by the commission. "When choosing the Head of the city of Izhevsk, the competency of the candidate, his desire to work, knowledge and experience will be assessed. This person should be connected with Izhevsk, be a real patriot of our city, and, undoubtedly, work in local self-government bodies and represent the interests of the citizens," said Konstantin Kotov.

Also, at the session, Igor Stycenko was elected as a chairman of the permanent commission of the City Duma of Izhevsk on issues of territorial development, urban development, land management and ecology.

Speaking in front of the deputies, Igor Stytsenko defined the main tasks in the work of the commission as: "Continuing work on creating a comfortable urban environment in Izhevsk. It is the adoption of the Land Use and Development Rules, the introduction of design code, the placement of advertising media in the city, the organization of parking spaces, the delineation of urban forests and parks’ zones, squares, etc. In addition, it is necessary to make the work of the commission more constructive, productive and open to the residents. "

During the session, the vacant deputy mandates of the City Duma of Izhevsk were transferred to Alexander Shemyakin, a candidate from the municipal list of the Udmurt regional branch of the political party Patriots of Russia, and Denis Belousov, a candidate from the municipal list of the Udmurt regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
