"Snow fairytale" festival in Izhevsk

On January 28th the results of the “Snow fairytale” open festival of sculptures made of snow were announced at the city park n.a. M. Gorky also known among citizens as the Summer garden.

This contest organized in Izhevsk has a long history. During all those years bright and unexpected works of art by young and talented residents for some days became unique sights and attractions of the Sumer garden.

This year seven sculptures entered the competition. The jury was led by Mr. Iurii Tiurin, the Head of the city of Izhevsk.

The jury unanimously decided to award the following works:

1st place – “Snow fury” (secondary school #9);

2nd place - “Ice throne” (group of authors);

3rd place – “Emelya’s stove” (Alexander Germesov).

“The Summer garden is open during the winter season as well. This year we have installed free tubing slide here and invited all initiative citizens to participate in the festival of sculptures to make this park even more attractive for Izhevsk residents. In the future this festival will also be organized on other city grounds: the Gogol boulevard and the Cosmonauts’ park,” – said Iurii Tiurin.
