The Head of Izhevsk Mr. Yuri Tyurin took part in the Interregional conference “Healthy cities – Healthy tourism”

On August 18-20, 2017 the Head of the city of Izhevsk Mr. Yuri Tyurin leading the official delegation visited the city of Cheboksary and participated in the Interregional conference “Healthy cities – Healthy tourism” as well as in the festive events dedicated to the Day of Cheboksary.

During the conference Heads of the Russian cities, representatives of the Federal agencies, the State Council and the Civic Chamber of Russia along with international and Russian experts have discussed the most effective practices in the field of comfortable city environment creation in terms of physical activities and strategy of health-improving and river tourism. The conference was organized by the Healthy Cities, Districts and Settlements Association in collaboration with the Association of Volga region cities. Today Izhevsk is involved in activities of both organizations.

During the plenary meeting Mr. Tyurin presented a speech “Forming comfortable city environment is a healthy cities’ basis”.

“The Conference’s moderators positively assessed Izhevsk experience on attraction of investments into city spaces’ development. New public gardens beautified by the city jointly with the industrial enterprises appear in Izhevsk. The deputies of the Izhevsk City Council are also actively involved into the process of creation of new city spaces. They are acting in accordance to the voter’s mandate or even investing their own savings and are beautifying alleys, courtyards situated near houses, sports grounds. Attracting investments we’re now actively developing the city park named after S.M. Kirov as a territory favorable for active leisure. In future we are determined to seek for new opportunities for such cooperation to ensure appearance of modern and comfortable grounds in various districts of Izhevsk,” – said the Head of Izhevsk Yuri Tyurin.
