4 – 5 September 2015 - Flowers Holiday in Izhevsk
The Izhevsk pond embankment was a place of the city’s “Flowers Holiday” on the 4th -5th of September. The Holiday was opened on the 4th September at the Monument to Peoples’ Friendship with participation of the Head of the City Alexander Ushakov.
“Flowers Holiday” has already become a traditional closing event of the “Izhevsk is a Blooming City” competition, held in the capital of the Udmurt Republic from 1st June to 1st September.
The event attracts dozens of companies and enterprises, school collectives and people from every district of the city. The artists create flower compositions, 3D figures and pictures using thousands of flowers.
This year’s holiday was themed around fairytales. The participants made figures of heroes of folk tales and modern animated films. The embankment saw such characters as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Buratino, Kolobok and also Nutcracker and the Mice King from the play by P. Chaikovskiy.
The events of the festival also included “The Queen of Flowers” and “Princess of Flowers” competitions, master classes of flower bunches creation, making of jewelry from natural stones, decoupage and aqua make up.
The Union of Garden Owners of Udmurtia also organized a seeds market.
