On September 1st, 2014 the Head of the city of Izhevsk, the City Council deputies, and representatives of the Izhevsk City Administration congratulated schoolchildren, their parents and teachers on the occasion of the Knowledge Day.
“Knowledge Day is a festive occasion for our country in general and each person in particular. We always recall our school years and the first teacher excitedly, - Mr. Alexander Ushakov said. – It is a great tradition for me to attend Izhevsk schools on September 1st”.
Chairperson of the Standing committee on social policy of the Izhevsk City Council Ms. Fania Fedorova congratulated pupils of the school #53. This is a unique institution where children with weak vision are educated. In the forthcoming school year (2014-2015) it is planned to re-equip a vision’s protection room and to purchase specific medical equipment for this school.
In 2014 about 67 thousands of children went to school. They will be taught by more than 4.5 thousands of teachers. Izhevsk schools admitted about 7 thousands of first graders.
