Ceremony of cooperation agreements’ signing between Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, Pecs University (Hungary) and South Moravian Centre for International Mobility (Brno, Czech Republic)
On April 23rd, 2014 the official ceremony of cooperation agreements’ signing between the Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and its foreign partners took place at the Izhevsk City Administration. Two agreements were signed: the first one with the Pecs University (Hungary), the second – with the South Moravian Centre for International Mobility (JCMM, Brno, Czech Republic).
Head of the City of Izhevsk Mr. Alexander Ushakov who was presented at the ceremony noted that traditionally in the capital of the Udmurt Republic significant attention had been paid towards international collaboration in various spheres. He underlined that cooperation between the Kalashnikov ISTU and the largest foreign institutions of higher education was a very important factor for the city development.
Rector of the Pecs University Mr. Jozsef Bodis and director of the JCMM Mr. Miloš Šifalda in their speeches expressed certainty about fruitful perspective results of collaboration with the Kalashnikov ISTU.
Collaboration between the ISTU and the Pecs University began in October, 1998.
Universities have been developing program of cultural student exchange when young people have a unique opportunity of getting acquainted with educational system, culture, traditions and everyday life in Izhevsk and Pecs. Besides that, academic exchanges form a very important part of cooperation.
In September, 2009 an arrangement on establishing of the JCMM office at the ISTU was made. In April, 2010 the Centre of the Czech language and culture was officially opened at the ISTU.
Every year the centre assigns up to 10 grants to the ISTU students and graduates that give an opportunity to study at the educational institutions in Brno.
